Re: Inherited Old Watch - Tell me more!
Yes Zaf, saw the 7 digit number which seems a somehow later addition. Also caseback looks as the watch was worn on a NATO-style strap for a long time. Since the SOE was active in 1944 it *could* be an issued watch. Guess we need to know more details about the original owner, but 'off board' please. ...

Re: Inherited Old Watch - Tell me more!
Have an identical with screw back case and 468 movement similar movement serial. A later model with snap back case and 478 movement but same dial was called E 159. Much later in the 60s this screw back case was used for Marine Nationale Chronometer watches, but with a very limited range of case seri...

Re: JLC 463 Military Style Watch
Guess Zaf is speaking of the s.c. Wehrmacht Jaeger-LeCoultre watches, but they have a slightly differend brand layout on dial. These MUST have matching case and movement serials, house a 463 without '/A' indication. Caliber inscription is stamped into barrel bridge not unter the balance.

Re: LeCoultre Reverso - help me identify
I would date the case a bit older like 1932/33 but there is no tracking data, just educated guessing.

Re: LeCoultre Reverso - help me identify
There were no US market Reverso watches, the patent was shared with Hamiltion to serve the north american market.
The gap between case serial and movement serial seems a bit too wide, movement was produced about 1935/36.

Warning of faked military watches
Just discovered a new sort of faked/interpretation JLC military watch. At this point the 2 observed watches were offered as marriage-watches (at least to the author), but this will surely change soon. They look like WWW watches with correct caseback and dial, but feature a new aftermarket steel case...

Re: Reverso Crown?
Its most likely a Reverso in 'classic' size, on the backside you find serial number and reference number 25x.xxx.xx.
