Interesting approach to valuations....

I don't really follow your response. It is a VERY RARE Bulova first ever Calendar (not time only) watch. And a first among American watch makers in the 1950's. If you are basing your value only on the quality of the metal used, then it isn't really a classic watch value, just a melt down price.

This is a very early Bulova Calendar watch. I am told it is the first model and the first ever windowed calendar by a USA manufacture, (proceeded by Rolex in 1945 or so, and many other swiss shops in 1950).
