I have a Bulova "wrist alarm" watch I would to get some information (value, date of mfg., etc.) on. The case is made of gold with a stainless steel backing. On the face (upper) is BULOVA / Wrist Alarm and (lower) GERMANY. The case diameter is 35mm. The watch works well and cosmetically is in very good condition. I don't see any serial numbers, etc. on the case. Sorry about the poor quality photo. |

While waiting for a response I have found that the watch is a Bulova 12b made by Junghans (has a J89 movement) for Bulova from 1951 to 1959(?) in Germany. The watches came in 20 jewel and 17 jewel for export (export from where; from Germany or from the US?) the 20 jewel watches were gold plated while the 17 jewel watches were 14K gold; how do you tell wether the watch is 20 or 17 jewel and plated or 14k gold? -John |

If it has a steel case back, for the US market, it would be very unusual for it to have a solid gold top. What does the case back say? You may have to open it to look at the insides to check jewel count and case stampings. However, I don't recommend doing this for an alarm unless you know what you're doing. |

Thanks, I'll take it to someone who can inspect it. |
