Reviewing watches received as gifts over the years, found another one. A Lucien Picard 14K gold "Automatique seashark". Case back shows "Lucien Picard 64085 14K Switzerland". Diameter is 1 1/4". Was working fine before I lost the blue gem stem. No band. Any value info appreciated. |

Looks like the crown is missing? If it's somethuing that needs an overhaul, it's not going to be far off from the value of the gold... |

Yes, the crown is missing. Don't know how, but one day I found it no longer existed. The original had a blue gem attached to the top of the crown. If I were to have it overhauled including a new crown, what would be the estimated value? Want to determine if the cost of overhaul is worth it. Thank you. |

This is something my shop would charge about $195 to overhaul. |

Thanks for the response. What would your estimate be of the value of the watch assuming the overhaul did not find any major problems, i.e., back to good working condition? Thanks for you assistance. |

Probably around $400-425...so it's right on the edge there in terms of whether or not it';s worth doing as you can scrap it for > $200. |

Thanks for answer. You have been most helpful. Now I have to make the decision, contact you and repair it and wear it or go ahead & scrap it. Thanks |

Thanks for the advice. I know what you mean. I've met enough of them over my long life. Again, appreciate your help. Depending on my decision, I may be in touch. |

>>Not all srcappers are the same...some are real thieves, be careful out there.<< So true Zaf. When I took a watch to a show to sell for scrap, a couple of guys would only give me $475. I kept 'shopping' and ended up getting $1,000 for it at the same show. That's quite a range. Andy |

That's crazy. $1000 is way to high unless it had a bracelet, but if you got that more power to you and congrats on the sale you made out like a bandit. |
