I found this watch in Germany a while back. It was one of a pair that were bought from a German Officer in 1978. Both had the cathedral second and minute hands as this one has. Most of the ones I have seen that are Bund issue bear a "67" marker under the eagle & have "vixa" type hands (ie. more modern than the WWII hands seen here). This one as you can see bears "183" and the older style hands. Talking to the experts on various forums, they concluded there were a few post-WWII Hanharts that existed in this format, but the most common exist with the "vixa" type modern hands. I have an idea of how much WWII Hanharts are priced, but the later Hanharts for me are a mystery. Anyone help me here? http://pic15.picturetrail.com/VOL569/2630330/5242680/149010232.jpg http://pic15.picturetrail.com/VOL569/2630330/5242680/149010232.jpg |

These are the chrome plated top version that are in between the WWII ones and the "Vixa" styled ones. From my experience they're rarer than either of those but seem to trade at a lower price since it's a chrome plated no WWII piece. Ball park value is $1300-1800. |

It's post WWII, chrome and NOT screw back, that impacts value to some extent. |

Your totally right there Zaf. Although these watches are interesting historically & mark a time after the war, when economics of the time were likely a large factor in design. (have to also add your knowlegde on military peices is astounding;)). |
