I have a Longines Ultrachron that I would like to know the value of. I have information from the longines factory about it. s/n 51626037

The movement only shipped to Longines-Wittnauer in 1972. Cased in USA, calibre 6652, frequency 28,800 vph, case reference number is 431.1003, case is stainless with 14 k bezel, date is at 4.5 and has bubble.

Flat black Dial silver hands and markers and logo is being redone because of flaking that I believe was the result of a previous cleaning. It has original band with many extra links. The band is s.s. with gold plated center links. The watch is being overhauled now. It had started loosing 2 min a week before overhaul. I have seen some on ebay that say they have screw down crowns mine does not. It is a big cluncky watch that is cased like some lacouture "club" watches.

If it is a tonneau/cushion shape, probably somewhere between $250-400. These are not all that popular with the collectors.

Watches as you describe regulary sell for $ 250.00 on ebay. The vintage watch sellers sell them for a bit more.

I saw your post today. I have a Longines Ultrachron like you describe that was just apraised for $600.00 with original box. All stainless with 14 k gold bezel. Band was all stainless also. It has a cushion case. Cushion ' Pillow cases are very popular here. Back to all this bigger is beter retro stuff. Case number 431-1003. Is it worth $600.00? Nope, it is not worth $600.00. The watch's original cost was $145.00 in 1972. I paid $ 100.00 for a cleaning and dial refinish recently as the dial had specks. I saw one on ebay very similar to mine but with a red dial that he described as dial being in good condition but with checks on dial. Buy it now was $ 169.00 How much does a dial refinh effect value on a lower value watch?
