Hi, I have in my possession the clock shown below which I believe is an alarm / travel clock. I'm debating whether to have it serviced or not (cost in relation to value)

The case appears to be silver and is signed Cartier with a series of reference numbers, the dial is similarly signed Cartier. There is a small mark which appears to be a hallmark. The case is perfect if a little tarnished with varying engraved diamond-shapes and lines on the sides.

My camera doesn't show the dial very well - in reality the pearl-finish is much cleaner and has extremely fine wavy lines (like guilloche but straight) running its length.

The time hands are gold along with the bezel and button at the bottom. The alarm hand is blue and moves exactly 1/4 of an hour when the bottom button is pressed.

I saw a similar clock recently and it mentioned the movement being by "EWC". The clock is very heavy, the dial cover has a ball-and-socket mechanism so the height can be adjusted after its swung over the top.

I also have the velvet fitted red leather / silk lined Cartier box which seems to fit it perfectly.

All help is most appreciated.

J

Very nice. Definitely worth fixing; we can do that here if you'd like. It is not the type of thing that I typically sell, so I can give a good indication of value, but I would imagine it would be over $1000, perhaps $2000. THis is just a guess, I'd need to comb through old auction catalogs to see if we cant find something similar.
