I'd like to know the value of my watch? I was my dads watch and don't know anything about it other than it has 37 diamonds and it's marked Lecoultre on the front and Vacheron & Constantin Watches, Inc. 14k Gold on the back. It's even marked LC on the winder. I think it's called a mystery dial. There's one similar on ebay right now at over $2000 but I believe mine is nicer as it has more elegantly shaped lugs.

You have a LeCoultre Galaxy. Value is usually in the $2000 to $2500 range.

The one you mentioned seeing on eBay at over $2K is mine. My expectation is that it will go to around $3K before the auction is over.

Your particular model of the Galaxy Mystery Dial is an earlier model than mine. The flat teardrop lug cases were the first versions made by LeCoultre. In addition, I see that you have an original factory dial (not refinished) that looks to be in mint condition. If I were to auction your watch right now, I would expect to receive $3K+ for it. If it had the original band, strap, box & paperwork (which I can see from the picture that it doesn't), I would expect almost $4K. These models are appreciating rapidly in the collector market. I've owned/sold close to 100 of them over the years and sold 2 pristine examples recently for over $4K.

Regards,

Greg
