I was given a V&C watch by my wife for Christmas. I belonged to her Grandfather. I love my wife!
It has a Jeager LeCoutlre which seems plausible from what I have read about the V&C and JL relationship.
The case is 18k gold - I believe from the markings
It measure 35mm across not including the crown
I have include pics of the movement markings - could not find an import code marking

No, sorry, something not right here. It is a JLC that is made to look like a Vach. A correct Vach would be signed Vach on the dial, case & movement even though it would have used modified JLC movements as the starting point.

Gee, thanks for letting me down easy - just kidding.
OK, so its a JLC watch (mostly) - It will remain a precious family heirloom. Just a couple of questions:
Do you have some idea of the date?
Is this something I should consider insuring? Is it worth its weight in gold or something more than that
Is it worth trying to find an appropriate JLC dial face.
Thanks. I very much appreciate your efforts with this forum.

It dates to approx 1946. Can you tell of the V&C dial has been refinished or not? That dial would have slightly raised enamel lettering if it is a V&C dial. If it's been redone or started off as a JLC dial, the script paint would be on the same level as the background paint.

From what I see, I would conclude that this is the JLC dial that has been repainted. On an original dial, there is no way the 12 would be touching the minute track.

Here is what a Vach movement of that era should look like:
