I would appreciate any help you could give me in identifying this watch , This item says Jaeger likely before he merged with Lecoultre its very heavy weighing 38 grams or 24.4 pennyweight legnth is 6.5 inches od of case appears to be 1.2mm or about exactly 1/2 inch the watch part is tiny and there is a tiny owl hallmark on the back
i see the numbers 34764A 79778 on it as well , is that a date code ? and serial # ?
thanks for your help in identifying and guessing the value of this item,,, i tried to up load too big of images so all i can do i guess is small ones here , i will try to make more pictures that are not too big in a minute or you could go to photobucket dot com and search by e mail address [email protected] i have alot of photos there too and there huge

Relatively common 1950s caliber 426 backwind. It wasn't made prior to Jaeger merging with LeCoultre (in 1937), as you supposed. Jaeger watches were still marketed separately from JLC in some areas, just as LeCoultre watches were marketed in North America separately from JLC. The movement was manufactured in Switzerland by JLC and cased in France (French eagle head gold hallmark) by Jaeger.

Because of the fashion trends for larger watches, these don't fare very well in the current market. At auction, I've actually seen them fetch less than gold melt value when the seller didn't state the weight.
