This watch came into my thrift store last week. In order for me to buy it I need to determine a reasonably fair market value. Believe me, since I am the only one there that knows watches I considered giving them five bucks for it and counting my lucky stars, but I want to be fair about it. So, I took it to the local watch shop to pop the back off, it has a K880 movement, serial #146029, which research tells me should be about 1964, please correct me if I'm wrong on that. It has a stainless steel case and the winding stem needs repair. The obligatory pict should follow... |

Well, you want to be fair to yourself too. If it isn't running, it's potentially a $300 fix if it needs parts. offer them $200. They'll probably be happy to take it. |

Actually, it's running well. I haven't timed it but the automatic movement seems to wind and has been running consistently for a day or two now. The watch shop told me it would probably be $30 to just replace the winding stem and tube. Eventually, I would like to get a full cleaning & servicing, to clean up the face and crystal as well. |
