Came across this watch the other day which belonged to my grandfather. On the back it is engraved with No. 3678 Kew Certificate Class 'A' 80.2 Marks. Would love to know more about this piece.

This is a potentially fairly valuable watch, but it is a little bit out of my area of expertise as I mostly specialize in wrist watches.

The KEW certificate is a British chronometer certificate that shows that the watch in question has gone through extensive testing (when it was new) to insure that the watch meets the chronomter accuracy standards of the era. As such, I think it has strong collector appeal.
