Other than it is a Bulova I don't know much about this watch but would like to know year, model and present value! The case serial number is 6495604. On the inside of the case back is stamped in blue ink 2N03, and three groups of numbers are hand scribed; 1596F, 1660F, and 44A278. The movement itself has 10AE and 17 Jewels stamped on it. I was told by a jeweler that the crystal is made of amber? Any info would be greatly appreciated as I may have to sell this and don't want to be anybody's mark! |

I don't have the watch in hand, but I doubt it's amber. It's just colored glass. Generally speaking watches of this type, particularly if they are gold plated are not that valuable. Perhaps < $100-125. |

was that a common practice for people to replace the crystal with colored glass, I haven't found another one like this anywhere on the net? |

From what I have seen lightly colored glass in the 1920s+ was not unusual. |
