Hello. Please would you give me a quotation on a zenith dress watch. It is a simple looking design, nothing so fancy as a chronograph, but it is in excellent and working condition. The case is all 18k and measures ~3.2 cm by 3.2cm, excluding lugs and original crown. The watch is not an automatic, and the strap is not original. Thank you for your Help helpFront viewBack view

PS I did try to post this before but did not see it on the forum. Apologies if I have double posted and am just too stupid to see the first one.

Thanks Zaf. I'm going off subject now but, as i'm a new collector,I was keen on your and your collegues opinions about old jump hour watches. I liokethe look of them and have a couple but do you think such mechanical digital watches are future collectors items.
Thank you again

Mechanical digitials may become collectible, but they frequently have very cheap movements. Are we talking about the 1960-1970s watches or earlier?

Personally, I like the watches I keep to have high quality movements.

The few I have certainly came from the 60's and 70's, and, at least in terms of jewell count, do vary in quality. The ones I consider to be better quality all include a second register, besides minutes and hours, and have a 17 or 24 jewell count (Technos and Itraco brands).

I appreciate the are not vintage and so are not valuble yet, but strangely enough in terms of visual appeal, I get most comments when I wear my cheap 1 jewell 'Lucerne' watch!

I also agree there is an intrinsic value in quality movements, that will easily outlive any current fad to buy odd looking 60's and 70's jump watches. However do you know of any watches, or brands, whatever their age that satisfy both points? At the end of the day I'd still buy something if I like it, but it would be nice to know that it could also be an investment. Thanks

I'm venture and say, any cheap digital, with a chrome plated case will never be that valuable. So I'd try to focus on an all steel or gold one with a high jewel count movement, if such an animal exists.
