Was my father's watch and wondering if it is worth looking into selling it or just passing it on as a sentimental item.Men's Diamond Watch\popjpeg{31655,Men's Diamond Watch}

All I know about this watch is that my father wore it. There is no stamp to indicate the manufacturer that I can see unless it is inside with the movement and I am not sure how to open this or any watch.

Guess he left me with a mystery...supposedly was a custom made piece but I wouldn't state that as a fact.

Le Coultre Company
P812

Cover Back
2121211
1300

Inside information after opening....Face is the opening over the usual back opening. So with this information any ideas over Sell or Sentimental?

If it's all LeCoultre, it's worth some money. The case to me looks a little odd, but it might be just the photo. Anyways, if it is all LeCoultre it's worth anywhere from $600 to $1800 depending on condition. I really can't tell from the photos.
So to make a long answer short, it is more than sentimental.

The case is quite correct for the automatic bumper wind version. Very nice watch!

The watch is not "custom made", as you mentioned in post #3, but is a standard 1960s production model. It is quite collectible and these caliber 812 bumper automatic wind versions were made in much smaller numbers than the manual wind versions.

The black outer dial is a bit unusual and may have been refinished at some point in time. Though black dialed models were produced by the factory, generally the inner and outer dials matched in color, so the black dial versions had black center dials also.

Typical auction values are $1,500-$3,000, depending on cosmetic condition (your pictures are poor) and whether the dial has been refinished.
