My grandfather gave me a watch this year, and four months later he passed away. It is a beautiful BlancPain, but I know ZERO about watches and would love to know its approx. value. It is clearly priceless to me, and I hope to pass it down to my own son someday, but would love to know out of curiosity.

It has 4 makers marks on the clasp, and two very small ones under the No. 162 which I cannot read.

The 4 on the clasp, to the best of my vision read -
1)Swiss Made
2) an oval with an image which I can't identify, and the letters G and P (or F)
3) 750, which I presume is 18K
4) another image, which appears to be a silhouette of a face, and two circles under that with letters in them

I do not know the age of this watch either. But I have posted two images below. Please let me know what you may know about this piece, it is very much appreciated!

Best, Casey

I guess it's a 6595, instead of the 1735 which I posted. Like I said, I don't know anything about watches. But would love to hear a rough appraisal!

Best, Casey

On something like this, you will need to find a SIMILAR watch from current production and discount 50-70% and that'll put you in the ball park.

Thanks Zaf, any idea how I can go about doing that? Apparently this watch was produced in the 80s, but I can't seem to find anything online for a similar watch for sale.

Here's what I know from another forum:

Its a 6595 with an automatic F. Piguet 95# base movement, 19 jewels, 40 hr power reserve, 33.8 mm case, It was probably produced in the late 1980's. t The calendar is a simple calendar meaning you must manually advance the date for months with less than 31 days. .

Looks like current similar is Ref. 2763-3618A-53 just go to their site, as long as it isn't a perpetual it's a good match. Search for retail value on that.

Add the value of the bracelet at scrap and you'll have a ball park estimate.
