Hi. This is my first time on the forum and like what I see. I enjoy collecting watches and have one particular piece that I can't indentify. My grandfather gave it to me fifteen years ago and he has since passed. He said he got it in Russia. I haven't been able to find any info on it. Maybe someone can help. The back reads: Bulova, gold electroplate bezel, rolledgold plate back, NI, H739542.

Looks like a 1971 Bulova, it may or may not have a model name, outside sentimental value, the commercial value is low as would be most electroplated Bulovas. |

Hi, I have a old Bulova Ladies wrist watch that was given to me by my mother in-law. The watch is stamped on the back 14k BULOVA with the numbers 210492. The face of the watch has Bulova above the center of the dail and the number 23 below the dial. It has an oval shaped face with 4 diamonds on the top and four diamonds on the bottom. |

I have a ladies Bulova Watch that I got from an old boyfriend as a gift around 1992. The back of the base says Bulova Watch Co. P6 Base Metal Bezel, Stainless Steel Back, Water Resistant. The Band says Gold Electroplate Italy ER Bulova, it is a dress watch. Inside the base is C 819001 Bulova Switzerland. The face is round with diamonds all around the outside (no idea if they are real) and the inside face has no #'s, just lines in place of them and what looks like gold hands. Was wondering if you could give me any info. at all on this. If the diamonds are real and value of watch. Thank you very much. |

"Base Metal" and "Elecroplate" are usually indications of an inexpensive watch, so I'd say the diamonds are not real and the watch is of low value. |

I have a Bulova watch that was passed down to me by my grandfather and would like any information you can give me on it. There is no model name or number and the only thing written on the watch is Bulova and on the wristband latch is Spartan. Thanks. |

Usually these non-gold Buolvas are inexpensive outside of sentimental value. They made so many models it would be difficult to identify unless someone has some old Bulova catalogs lying around. Best, Zaf |

Carrie, Your Tonneau-shaped watch with the subseconds at 6 o'clock was probably produced sometime during the late-1920s through the 1930s. Your picture is very fuzzy and hard to see clearly, but your watch looks very similar to a model called the "Argyle". Very classic and nice, but as Zaf mentioned, very few Bulova models are incredibly value. 1930s Bulova Tonneau models like yours usually sell for $80-$150 in gold-filled and $150-$300 in solid 14K gold. Hope this helps! Greg |

i have a baylor ladies wristwatch from 40's or 50's ???. there is no model number. the watch is 14K white gold. the band has 22 small diamonds inset in linked squares. the face has a pyramidal inset (row of 5, then 4, 3, 2, 1)of very small diamonds above and below and 5 diamond chips along each side. on the back of the watch face are the letter "M" and 14K. any thoughts on what might be reasonable, before i get an appraisal. thanks. |

Aimee, As Zaf usually tells people, vintage ladies' watches don't generally fetch much in the market. Generally little more than the melt value of gold and precious stones, unless its a special/desireable model. Sad, but true. Baylor isn't one of the top-tier swiss companies and would probably fall into the category of melt/scrap value plus $50-$100. It sounds like you have 40 diamonds around the case and 22 diamond on the band, if I read your description correctly. I know the case design you're describing. Typically, these were 1-1.5 point stones, so your total weight in diamonds is probably around 2/3 to 1 carat. They typically didn't use really great quality diamonds for these 14K cases, so I would guesstimate a scrap/melt value of your case and stones to be around $350. The watch would probably bring around $500 at auction or up to double that amount at a retail shop. A word of advice... avoid the mistake of going to a local jeweler for an "appraisal". Most of the time, these folks know less about vintage watches than you do (they don't sell vintage watches), but it doesn't seem to stop them from charging money for a worthless appraisal that has no basis in reality. Instead, consider going to a knowledgeable vintage watch shop for an appraisal or buying one of the many fine vintage watch price guides. Zaf/FinerTimes also offers a subscription service for access to their database of watch sales prices over the last several years... very useful. Best Regards, Greg |

A non running ladies Bulova from that era will be worth close to scrap value. So if it is plated metal, value is very very low. |

Hello, I am hoping that someone may know a little more about this watch, age and if it has any value. It belonged to my 101 year old great-grandmother, who passed late last year. It is a Bulova and has inscribed on the back "10k rolled gold plate Bulova" with the numbers "B656437". The face has roman numerals as the numbers. It was not in working condition when I received this. The picture attached is the best I could get of it since it is so small, any closer and it was too blurry. Looks like it may be from the '30s but I really have no idea. Any help or info anyone has would be greatly appreciated! I also have another one from her made by Gruen?? Says 10k rolled gold plate. I have never heard of this manufacturer, looks old like the other. |

Value on just about any "rolled gold plate" ladies Bulova will be low, $30-50 Max, probably even less if you can find a buyer. |

I have an 18kt yellow gold Bulova Acraquartz men's watch with numbers N2 38794. It has a diamond in the middle of the timing fork on the face and 18kt yellow gold bracelet. I was told by the person that gave it to me that he received it from a Jewler friend in Italy that told him it was a promotional gift from Bulova and never was sold on the open market. Can you tell me its approximate value and rarity? |

The value of both watches would be near scrap, so #1 maybe around $150-200 and #2 would be < $50. There is currently no demand for small ladies watches. |

Hi, I have a ladies watch - Bulova 23, square face, white 14 K gold, 18 diamonds around the clock face, 10 diamonds on the leaf and flower pattern at the top and bottom of the watch. I am looking for any information on this watch. It was my mother's and she passed away so I am unable to get any information from her. The current watch band is not original. The back of the watch is engraved "14K Bulova N2" and the number "24202". It is a wind up watch that still works great. I have attached a picture - I apologize for the scan but its the best I can do. I would appreciate any information anyone may have. Thanks! Daisy |

Value will be around scrap value of gold & diamonds and $50 for the watch. Probably around $300. A jeweller can better estimate the scrap value than me. |

I have a women's vintage wristwatch. Bulova 23 on the face, on the back, a "J" with an arrow through it, 18K gold, M7 and number is 077556. I've researched briefly, and I think it's 1967. But I can't find any 18k square watches to compare for price (which I assume is low?). |

It is not an accutron, the box is from a 1960s watch. This appears to be a 1940s piece, in non running condition maybe worth $20. The Astronaut box is worth more! maybe $50. |

N1 would be 1971. As far as value, it's only a little more than scrap since you have a box, tags, etc, so call it scrap + $50-100. |

The M4 indicates the watch is from 1964. These small ladies are not in demand and your watch has little value beyond the small amount of scrap gold it contains. How about starting a new thread when a new watch is discussed? |
