Hello... I'm hoping zaf can respond to this one for me but anyone with knowledge will do just fine. I recently came across a lecoultre automatic 481 wind indicator at a yard sale for yup, you guessed it, 1 dollar. it is 10k gold filled bezel with stainless steel back... band is spiedel 10k g.f. top caps... reads... spiedel pat 2.689.450 inside of watch reads... 481 automatic swiss unadjusted 17 jewels... there is also some numbers way down in the watch that read... 1237961 the 3 could be a 5 it's hard to read. The inside of the backing reads... star case company 3208835 there is some kind of after market engraving on the backing that reads... a24z8dhk anyways... I'm hoping you can give me a date or aproxamit date? And most importantly an apraisal... or guesstimate of any kind... oh and before I forget... I have seen others like this watch on the net but, can't find another one just like mine... it has a black face? Is that unusual? Sorry for the bad photo... my camera is no good. I believe this watch to be in decent condition... just a few minor scratches and some worn thin gold. I greatly apreciate your time and know it is valuble. Thanks again... Jack S. Hi. Tremendous buy at $1 congratulations. It's a 1950s era wind indicator, value in gold filled is $250 to $400. Black is less common but by no means rare.

Thanks Zaf,
I really apreciate your time and wisdom... I have no idea if I want to sell this watch or not but, if I decide to, is there any suggestions you have for me as to where I could sell this item? Besides ebay? I'm not even sure that i want to sell it, it's quite a watch! But it might be usefull to know for a later date. Thanks again, Jack S. Swanson.

If you want to avoid eBay, a couple of guys here buy LeCoultre including myself. Maybe you can post something to the JLC forum?
