I have an older watch that I can't find and ID for anywhere, nor anyone willing to open it and fix the auto wind counterweight. It still runs when wound up. My Grandfather gave it to me before he died in 1991. No one knows exactly when he got it, either during WWII in Germany or during the Korean War. I call Bulova to inquire to the watch's ID and ability to be repaired. The very nice service rep was very confident that it was a Accutron until I described the face and how you can "see throught to your wrist" when wearing. I honestly don't care what it is worth, I would just like to know what it is so I can get it fixed and cleaned up.
The front says: Credos Automatic Swiss
The back says: Bulova Watch Co 10 AUC Unadjusted 17 Seventeen Jewels Swiss
The Top behind the band says: Credos Watch Co
I believe the Bottom behind the band says: 14K Rolled Gold
Value is sentimental only...it is not worth fixing from an economic stand point. I don't know if the movement and dial originally came like that, there could be a mismatch somewhere. I'd expect a Bulova movement to have a Bulova dial.
