These are typically dials that have been re-done to make the watch look like a "Seamaster 30". YYou may want to verify that if this is a watch you are considering purchasing.

I had the watch examined by a local watch shop and their opinion is that everything is pristine and untouched. As such what would be your estimated valuation?

From what I see, I disagree with the opinion of the local shop, so I will pass on making an opinion unless I can see the watch in person, sorry.

Can you give me any input on what tips you off or what appears to be illegitimate? I am suspect as well and was not completely satisfied with the confidence of their professional opinion. However, they have been around forever and are the most respected place in the city for repair/servicing - so they definitely have seen more of these than I. If you would be so kind, could you give me your opinion on the problems/questions that you see with the dial? Thanks for any help you can send my way.

The dial has been redone in my opinion, the fonts look all wrong esp the Omega symbol. The back has been polished an re-spun to give a satin finish in the center. I may be wrong of course with watch in hand, but I've been around the block a few times too. It wouldn't be a watch I'd pay a premium for, put it that way.

Do you know of anyone/shops in the houston area that I could have the watch looked at first hand - someone who truly knows what to look for like yourself? Thanks for all of your input and frankly I believe that you are indeed correct about the dial - unfortunately the watch was not advertised as such. What would a watch with a re-done dial versus one with a completely original dial roughly be worth? Thanks again for your help.

Cheers
