Hi all,

This is my first post to this forum. I've had a great time browsing this website for the past few months and was waiting for an opportunity to test your skills and experience. So here goes...

Today a dealer offered me the Breguet watch seen in the images below.

According to the dealer, the watch case is stainless steel, 38mm diameter, with a rotating bezel. He claims the movement is a Valjoux 72 and that the watch is functioning fine, ie keeping decent time (accuracy 10-20 seconds a day) and that the chrono operates properly (ie the counters all reset to zero).

I am not too familiar with the history and ins-and-outs of this Breguet model and would therefore appreciate any insight you may be able to give as to whether this watch is genuine, and if so, what its value might be.

BTW, one specific issue I noticed is that the bezel looks different from the bezels I saw on similar Breguets I found online.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your kind assistance, and kudos for an entertaining site.

Cheers,

David Glassman

It is a fake. I don't want to get into the details of why it is a fake as that only helps the fakers at this point, but the watch is not genuine.
