Here is a watch I am considering bidding on. The information provided is from the auction listing.
I am new to watch collecting and would appreciate any opinions on what the watch is worth in its current state and what you think it might be worth restored. I appreciate your assistance.

Omega Constellation Chronometer PIE PAN Mens Wristwatch.
Circa: 1950s
Winding: Automatic
Metal: Stainless Steel.
Measurements: 34 mm aprox.
Case Reference: Case Reference.2852 SC.
Case Sn.: n/a
Movement Sn.: Movement Sn.16293603
Calibre: Calibre 505.
Working condition: Yes but needs a service.
Not recently serviced, timed or regulated:
Overall Condition of Case: Good to Very good but case back gold seal rubbed.
Overall Condition of Dial: Poor
Notes: 100% Original Omega wristwatch but winding crown not signed.

It looks like it is in need of a complete restoration. I wouldn't bid on it unless you like headaches, but if you must, maybe $200 at the most.

I can not believe it. The watch sold for $700+ dollars.
I, however, did not participate in the auction.

That is totally ridiculous. Glad you didn't bid.
The back is totally worn and the dial needs to be repainted. It will never be nice even if you throw $400 at it.
