Wondering if anyone has any information on this watch. It was given to my father by a friend of his in the 60's I think. Markings on face are: Baume & Mercier Geneve, with a gold star. Markings on back are 3941 and 18k. Functions are hour, minute, second, day, date, month, chrono function. Watch has three subdials at 3, 6 and 9. Subdial at 6 is moon phase with a hand that runs from 1 to 12. Subdial at 3 is for chrono function which is marked "30" at the 12 position, "10" at the 4 position and "20" at the 8 position. Subdial at 9 shows seconds which operate independent of the chrono function. There are four hands mounted at the center of the watch showing hour, minute, date and chrono seconds. There are two rectangular buttons on either side of the crown that operate the chrono functions. The crown is not original. The jeweler who serviced this watch replaced the original with an Omega crown. (We didn't notice this until years later...) Face is white with some textured vertical lines on the top portion of the face (kind of like a cotes de geneve pattern). Watch functions well. No dents, just very minor swirls on the back. It's 18k gold so it's pretty soft material. I'd apprecaite any information you can provide on this watch such as when it was manufactured, what type of movement it has, original value or current estimate of value. May have to sell it in the future and would like to know how I would go about doing that. Thank you very much. |

I believe it is a Valjoux 88 movement. It all depends on condition, so ballpark $2500 to $3500 give or take. |
