I have a Pocket watch [Gold 18 Kt.] `E.W.Streeter, London, [on the dial] with sunken seconds movement. It is engraved on the dust cover `To the Queen `E.W.Streeter 18 New Bond Street, London.W bearing No.9665. [on the case dust cover and the caliber]. This time piece is in a mint condition as can be seen from the images posted. Unfortunately, I do not remember as to whether I have posted about this Watch in this Forum. If so, kindly excuse trouble. After reasonable search in the net I am able to gather only the following information, vis--vis., the name E.W.Streeter :- `Streeter : E.W.Streeter, 18, New Bond Street, London, Catalogue, With Designs and Prices, of Diamond ornaments, 18-Carat Gold Jewellery, and Watches & Clocks, (English machine made) also silver and 16th edition (1885) reprint edition : matching reprints, 1992. $ 30.00. Reprint of a scarcs trade catalogue of Edwin Streeter, a leading Victorian jeweler. In 1840 Roebuck bay was named to honour the second visit made by William Dampier in HMS Roebuck settlers came to north west and struggled to make living from sheep. They faced drought, dingos, hostile aboriginal tribesmen. Most quickly found that there was more money to be made in the pearling, later the cattle industry. A base at Roebuck was set up by E.W.Streeter & Co., a famous London firm of jewelers. A hotel, jetty were built to bring in more pearlers from southern seas. May I request you to kindly render your considered and valuable thoughts, opinions and remarks about this very fine time piece and BALLPARK WORTH. Thank you,
