Can anyone help me identify this watch.I am trying to determine age , model, value. It is a ladies Greun. Face also says, swiss. 17 jewels. Back says 14kt in some type of brackets. Appears to be white gold. Local jeweler says diamonds are real , but couldn't help me much more than that.

It'll be along the lines of the gold + the stones + anywhere from $0 to $100. It's not a brand that's fetching much above scrap in ladies watches.

I'm a furniture refinisher, and this watch was found in a piece of furniture that was given to me. It's a Gruen precision watch and on the back of the band it has some print that says PATDES 130655, Mignon,1/20-10k, GF.0/s/s all on different sections of the band. Can you tell me what this maybe worth???.close up

Just about any small size vintage ladies piece, will be worth near scrap. That does not appear to be gold, so value is very low.

The print on the band has nothing to do with the watch. The band is simply a generic gold-filled stretch bracelet that was added by the jeweler that sold it.

To learn anything about the watch, you'll need to open the case. The case material is printed inside the the back cover. That particular shape case dates from about 1915-1920. I've seen these cases in both gold-filled and solid gold, so it could be either. Value isn't huge... probably $50-$100.

Interesting trivia: the movement in your watch, a Gruen Guild, was made for Gruen by the same company that also manufactured the Rolex movements at the time: Hermann Aegler. Both Gruen and Rolex owned stock in the Aegler company and Rolex eventually bought the company, with Gruen selling their shares in the 1930s.
