I recently bought this watch and I love it. It is gaining about 9 seconds a day which is about 4 1/2 minutes a month. Is this normal or could a jeweler adjust it to be more accurate?

Thanks

9 seconds a day for a vinatge watch is fantastic. Don't touch, it's better than normal and is likely better than when it was new.

I had my watch cleaned and while apart the jeweler gave me some numbers from inside. I'm hoping you can tell me the age of my watch:

69-612AA
000190
2701 22040513
Longines

This was on the inside of the case.

Thanks,

Brent

I don't know. You have to remove the crystal and stem to take the movement out.

The number of the movement is 508. Is this the number you need to tell the age?

Thanks

If I may intrude -- the movement number you seek has 8 digits -- in my view, perhaps somewhere between 12-15,000,000 -- which would date the piece in the mid-to-late 60s.

Are any of numbers in my earlier post significant?

I found another number just below a box that contained "508". That number is:

51185910

I hope this helps to identify the age.

Thanks,

Brent

Are you sure you have read that number correctly?

It is too large for a Longines serial number. Check it again.

I read it from a 10 power lens. No mistake.

I just double checked and the only number engraved on the movement is: 51185910

What about this number that is engraved on the inside of the case? 22040513

When I had my watch cleaned and adjusted by my jeweler I found out that it is 18K solid gold.
The crystal is flawless as in like new condition. There are no scratches except on the bottom and they can be polished out but it doesn't bother me.
I wear this watch on a daily basis.
It is a Longines Automatic Five Star Admiral.
