Could you please provide a date and value of the following watch? My father purchased it new. He believes it was the late 1950s when he purchased it.
- 32mm width case
- 10k gold filled
- New debeer leather strap
- completely serviced by authorized JLC dealer in March 2014
- condition is excellent

I can't date it unless a movement serial number is provided. Gold filled dress watches are usually not worth a whole lot, besides the obvious sentimental value.

I am reluctant to open the back to get the movement serial number as I don't have a tool to open it. Any suggestions?

If you want an actual date, the serial will be required, though I'm in agreement it's late 1950s. JLC also probably noted the serial in their invoice.

Ok thank you. I will see if I can get the serial number from the jeweler. Any guess on the value? I know it probably has more sentimental value than actual.

Probably around $300. Again, gold filled dress = low collector interest.
