Hi Zaf,

First of all I want to say a big thank you, I purchased an Omega Constellation PiePan many years ago from you and has been my daily user ever since and I still get compliments every time I wear it.

I need the hard truth in regards to the appraisal of my fathers old Rolex. It's been sitting in a drawer for about 50 yrs and it's time for the watch to find a new home. I'll either sell it or trade it.

It's a Rolex Precision from late 50's, I think it' has a 1210 movt., the case back is hallmarked 18k as well as the buckle, the watch weighs 2.5oz in total (including movement & crystal), the crown is unsigned but pretty sure it's orig., I just had the watch cleaned and serviced and it's now telling good time (fast 2"-15"/24hr) while sitting on the shelf. The watch can fit a 7 1/2" wrist.

The dial is a bit tired and has taken most of the brunt from aging but it's still legible, the hands and markers still appear ok.

As far as I know it's all orig., at least nothing has been done to it for the last 50yrs. It's hard for me to figure out a current price as these type of dress watches have not been that popular but I think the bracelet is solid 18k gold and would think this would help the selling price.

What do you think it's worth (ebay, forums, retail....etc) ?

Thanks, Devoti

PS: All pics were taken before it was serviced but still looks pretty much the same, just slightly cleaner.

It is a 1950s piece most likely. I think the bracelet is a custom job actually, not Rolex. It doesn't appear to be Swiss. So as much the value is probably a slightly over scrap, especially if the dial isn't stellar.
