While stationed in Turkey in 1968, I purchased an old Longine pocket watch (key wound). The case appears to be either nickel or silver, the face of the watch has the name of the jeweler (I assume) which is Nacib K Djezvedjian & Son, Constantinople. It has two covers on the backside. The inner cover has about 5 stamps with different dates and European cities on it. Serial numbers (3580610) appear on all three covers plus on the back of the actual watch. It also has what looks to be an Arabic word or name engraved on the back of the watch (not on the cover). How can I find out more about this watch and the approximate value? Again, this is a key wound watch (chain and key attached to the watch) all in working order. |

Looks like you have an early Turkish market Longines that dates from about WWI. There often had the jeweler name on the dial and other parts off the watch. If it is TIME ONLY, it isn't particulalrly valuable, maybe $300 to $500. If it has complications like a chronograph, a repeater, etc, it can be worth a lot more. |

Dear Zaf, I too have an old Longine Pocket watch and mine is engraved with "6 Grand Prix and a serial number 3133008. However, my watch is 14k gold. It is not working and I would appreciate your comments as to its value and/or the estimated cost to repair it. Thank you for your time. Helen B |

It depends how heavy the gold is, sounds like a $500 to $800 kind of thing. I don't know what the repair cost is without seeing it, thanks. |
