I have to pop the case on my round-dial Hamilton from the 50's so I can include the movement and some serial numbers in the photos I'm going to take.

It's a 14k gold case, and all of the case knives I have seen are made of metal. Isn't that going to scratch the case? My watchmaker, BTW, has been of no help in getting info about the watch.

Don't they make case openers out of wood or another non-metal? If anybody has any info, I would appreciate whatever you can give me. Thanks.

I use a one sided razor blade. If you are careful, you will not scratch the case.
