Hi,

I'm new to collecting Hamiltons, and have been interested in learning a little more about this watch. I'm not sure how rare it is or what it's value is these days.

I recently purchased my first vintage Hamilton. It's a near mint Steeldon from an online retailer (the watch is very nice, with the applied numbers). However, it cost $325(USD) and was not running when I received it (it would run for a few seconds and stop).

I sent it back a few weeks ago and they're fixing it. At this point, I'm wondering if I should just ask for a refund. $325 seems very expensive for this model, and I'm especially concerned that it wasn't running properly when I got it (as they had claimed).

I appreciate your sharing any thoughts you may have. Thanks!

Matt

Sounds like a ton of money for that model. Check our price guide here:

Check the Hamilton sample, the Steldon sells for < $200
