I have inherited a Hamilton men's wrist watch. The back of the face had this info : 17 Jewels 987A 0230813 U.S.A.
The inner casing had: Hamilton Watch Co Lancaster PA Wadsworth 10k gold filled
pend't pat'd 5-3-27 design pat'd 9-18-38 H 6 29622

Can anyone help me identify this watch? It's face background is champagne with gold numerals on the face. Lower dial on face has incriments of 10 going up to 60.
The band is a burgandy brown almost leather look with a silver metal backing- elastic type band and the inscription: speidel pat 2689 450
Without any pictures it's hard to say much. Please supply some pictures if you want any more information. Hamilton produced hundreds of different model watches of this type.
Based on the movement serial number (0230813) the watch was probably made in the 1942-3 time period.
The band is a replacement Speidel twist-o-flex band which was not originally on the watch.
My husband inherited a Hamilton wristwatch. Need help in model ID. See uploaded pic. Local watch shop said it's from 1940's. Only identifier I can find (without opening case) is "10K gold filled" on case back with a large "W" in front of and a long line over top of the hallmark. Face is a pinkish taupe color. Band is Speidel replacement.
