Hi! I purchased a Hamilton watch for $500. It is platinum, and has 40 diamonds on it. It's completely rusted on the inside! Should I spend the $400 to repair it? I was told it's late art deco from the jeweler.

Thanks, TeresaHamilton ladies platinum and diamond watch

I think you'd be $400 in the hole! My suggestion is to try to find a gold filled Hamilton with the same movement and use that.

Hello--I wrote on Thursday, March 11, 2004 asking about repairing my watch. I had it repaired from a jeweler that thought he had a movement in his shop. He ended up building a movement piece by piece. He originally quoted the repair at $200.00, but since it took a year and a half he charged me less. I love it...it works like a charm.--Teresa
