HI, I just recently acquired a Hamilton pocket watch and would love some help with identifying it. Here is what I can tell you. The case has a screw on front and back. The face says hamilton at the top and has a gold toned face and inset second hand. The middle of the face has some sort of design to it. The hands are blued. The watch has the following numbers on the case 09209640. The back of the watch says the following Hamilton watch co. Lancaster, PA 17 Jewels 974 1667533 made in usa and adjusted. On the back screw off case cover it says Philadelphia watch case co twenty years and the # 9209640
The serial number of the movement dates its production to circa 1918. The grade 974 movement was one of Hamilton's more common 16 size movement and was used in their non-railroad grade timepieces. The 20 year nomenclature on the case identifies it as gold-filled.
