With gold prices at an all time high, it seems that many high value watches are being smelted down and I would like to save a few if possible. What I know is that Bulova did not make gold watch cases in house. Accutron solid gold cased watches during the '60s had cases made by S&W (Schwab & Wuischpard) and by The Star Watch Case Company. Hamilton also used S&W. Starting in about 1971, some solid gold cases began turning up that are marked with a capital "J" with an arrow through it. I have found only one or two references to that mark on the Internet and those said it is that of Jackay Watch Case Co. Further searching turned up nothing for a company by that name. I would like to know the history but I have hit a dead end. Can anyone help? |
