I just purchased a wrist watch with a manufacturer's name of Bob Steele. I have other old watches(Benrus, Elgin, Belforte) but have never seen this name before. It is a 10 karat rolled gold square case with a light brushed metal face and an inset second hand at the bottom of the dial. It is also marked 17 jewels.
I think it might have been a promotional item named for the 1940's actor Bob Steele and made by some other manufacturer. Any clue about this watch?
Any information would be much appreciated!

Tom

Thanx so much for the reply! I had a watch dealer take a look inside the case. It's swiss made with a manufacturer/distributor by the name Warner, I believe. I suppose that it was used for advertising or marketing of some sort.
