I just purchased a wrist watch with a manufacturer's name of Bob Steele. I have other old watches(Benrus, Elgin, Belforte) but have never seen this name before. It is a 10 karat rolled gold square case with a light brushed metal face and an inset second hand at the bottom of the dial. It is also marked 17 jewels. I think it might have been a promotional item named for the 1940's actor Bob Steele and made by some other manufacturer. Any clue about this watch? Any information would be much appreciated! Tom | ||

Thanx so much for the reply! I had a watch dealer take a look inside the case. It's swiss made with a manufacturer/distributor by the name Warner, I believe. I suppose that it was used for advertising or marketing of some sort. Tom |
