Any help or direction would be appreciated. From my family estate I came into possession of a pocket watch. It was known to be very old based on my grandmothers memory of the person she got it from. Here is the information I could find on/in the watch: "Dueber" (On inside of front clam shell) "Favorite" (On dial, and on metal plate in the movement) "1879 DUEBER'S PAT" (on rim edge beneath the movement cover "164 1879" (On clam shell covering the dial, and on outer clam shell on back) I could find no other numbers on or within the watch. Note the clam shell on the back is not the cover for the movement - there is yet another hinged clamshell beneath that that covers the movement. So, not sure of purpose of rear clamshell. The case appears to be gold, with images of a small bird against scenery on front; a small (Germanic-looking) house against scenery on the back. It works perfectly and keeps accurate time. Crystal is perfect. Case is blemish-free. Any info you can give me on this or direction where I might find more info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rich |

The Cooksey Shuggart price guide is a decent source for pocket watch information (not so great for wrist watches), so I'd start with that. You can get it on Amazon, might even consider a used copy as the info doesn't change that much from year to year. |
