This watch was just passed down to me today. It is a larger gold Hampden open face style pocket watch. Movement says "Gen l Stark," "17 Jewels." Black Arabic numerals for hours, red 5 minute marks center around outer edge by each number. Signed "Hampden Watch Co", and "Canton Ohio" above the small second hand area- both in Red. Hour and minute hand are spad style. The case is gold. Filled, solid, or plated - who knows? It has scroll work on back of case, but have no idea what of... just looks like swirls of ribbons.
SN# on movement: 1893321
Case around movement: 1 6018
Inside back cover:
Dueber (stamped in)
Warranty (stamped in)
20 years (stamped in)
H100108 (this is scratch in case)
7616018 (stamped in)
X3672 (this is scratch in case)
91884 (this is scratch in case)

Along outer edge of back cover is also scratched in... l5-12-76W

Can't tell you much more, except I call it an open face because it has no cover that folds shut over the face. I guess it is obvious I am not a watch expert!
Can you help me?

The serial number on the movement dates the watch to 1903. The "20 years" designation shows that the case is gold-filled. The case was made by the Dueber Watch Case Co. (who purchased Hampden in the 1880s). The scratched-in marks were probably made by watchmakers at various times when the watch was serviced.
