I need to shorten my watch band. It has the rectangle plates that cover each link. Each link has Speidel USA on it. Also it is a twistoflex style.
Here's a picture of it.

I don't think it is possible without a big headache. Aren't the links riveted?

It seems the side pieces have a small metal tab that may need to be bent out and a U shaped retainer removed.
I didn't want to undertake this without knowing for sure.

Well, they're cheap. If you break it, you can always go with leather or find another.

Here is a link to instructions to do as you ask. I did it to two of my Spiedel bands. It's not hard. Just have the right tools & patiences. Also, make sure you don't lose the very small "U" clip. CCO
