I recently acquired two watches that have been in my family. The 1st watch is gold, has the name "Waltham" inscribed, roman numbers, the one side opens to display the clock and the other side opened and a piece of braided hair fell out, the part where you would wind the watch is by the roman number III. The watch does not work. The one side has a "C" etched into the gold and the opposite side has a farm house scene etched into it. I found what I think is the serial number and it is as follows: 110205. I do not know how old the watch is. Any guesses? I also have another watch that is silver, it has an open face and has regular numbers, the pin to wind it is at the number 12. It has the name "Illinois" on the top. There is no etching or other identifying marks. I do not know how to open it. I am not sure if it is stuck or what the problem is. Any ideas how to open the watch to find the serial number? Any help is appreciated. Thank you |
