Hi Zaf:
Have this watch ...with data above all 18 kt but what looks almost like a military dial. Wat is the skinny...all sorts of hallmarks on lugs...very large for the day 38mm bezel 44mm lug to lug. Thanks...Doc

Hi Zaf:
Thanks so much for the reply... I realize now my post was presumptive and rude...please accept my apologies. Two questions: 1) Are my assumptions re the 1942 watch correct and why would JLC put an almost military watch with 18 kt and high grade movement?2) Is the Memovox anything special and why screw back and gasket? Thanks again for your patience. Best regards, Doc

1) I date it to more like late 1943 early 1944.The watch has nothing to do with the military. It's 100% civilian and in the style that was in vogue during that era. Furthermore, it appears that the dial has been refinished at some point.

2) Not sure about the Memovox question. There are many screw back models with a ring, that are designed to be water resistant.

If you have any other questions, let me know.
