You folks seem incredibly knowledgable . . . so I thought I would ask about this watch, which, I'm told, my father bought from a friend of his in the 1950s. It is yellow gold (forgive the photo), and is very thick and heavy. (I have it on a croc band, but I also have the 24k gold band that my father wore it on.) It's not really my style - I'm more of a Timex Indiglo guy - and though it has some sentimental value, I thought I might sell it. Any idea of value; how best to sell such things; etc.?

Thanks.

PS: Reposting b/c I think I posted under the wrong heading last time. Sorry bout that ...

Thanks

That is one pretty watch, with those fancy lugs. You should have no trouble selling it.

If it is 18k value is around $1500-2000 all depends on condition & originality.

Thanks so much. From reading posts on here, I believe it is 18k, as the case is stamped with an "A". And, since I got curious about it the other day, I asked my mother and was told that - other than regular cleanings - it has never been worked on, restored, etc. since purchased in the 50s.

Appreciate the help.

If is it a pristine original, I'd suggest holding on to it, value of such items will only go up. It would be a shame to sell a family piece anyways.
