Hi there. Just be be clear, there is no such thing as a LeCoultre movement made by Vacheron Constantin. The VXN mark is merely a Swiss export mark found on LeCoultre moevements during the era that LeCOultre and V & C were one marketing entity. V&C has NEVER made a LeCoultre movement but frequently used LeCoultre movements in their own watches.

As far as the calibers go, the 489 I think is a better choice than the 814. The 489 is the first manual wind caliber and is easier to service than the 814.
