What made you think the case on the Futurematic was 14k gold. I brought it to one of those "we buy gold" places and they tested it and confirmed it was 14k gold. But there are no markings anywhere on the case. was that common?

Its marked in between the lugs and inside the case back. This style case was not made in gold plate.
