hello; recently I purchased a JLC with the mvt # 487197. I'm wondering if it's possible to pin the manufacturing date down to a particular year.

The other thing I'm intrigued by is the seconds sweep is red, while the minute and hour hands are blue/black, EXCEPT for the tips which are a tad discolored. (Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera, so I can't upload a picture.)

Does this discoloration happen a lot?

Looks like 1947 or so.

Not sure about your color/discloration issue though w/o photo.
