Hi, the dial looks refinished to me! Where did you get it?

I always like to look at world timers.A good place to start is at the pointer, many times the K`s will be covered up with the pointer if it is redone. In this case it is something all together different.New York is abbreviated and Bangkok is misspelled, this is definitely not a factory dial but a redial

Hi Peter,
On the the dial there not a reference to Bangkok but to Bangladesh, I think !
And there are more dials that are exactly the same (with the abbreviation of NY). See also on chrono24: https://www.chrono24.nl/jaegerlecoultre/memovox-vintage-world-timer--id1899996.htm?dosearch=true&picnum=6&query=memovox+world+time&resultview=list&searchexplain=1&suchen=Zoeken&tab=pics&urlSubpath=%2Fsearch%2Findex.htm

See also this Picture:

memovox

So i think this dial is a factory dial.

Kind regards

Sorry but the one you show above is definitely refinished. Even the outer dial on that one doesn't look right to me. Perhaps the same source? By refinished we mean that the dial is repainted.

Hi Zaf,
Thanks for your comments. The watch in steel is definitely not from the same source, in this case it is from a private seller in Germany. How can you see for sure that it is repainted ? And is it repainted in a totally diffferent way ? What does it mean for the watch and its value ?
Kind regards,

Maybe a bit 'ad hominem' but when finding an artisan interpretetion of a "LeCoultre Chronograph Calender" on their site this surely does not speak for dealers reputation in general. ;)
I never understood the hype for worldtime Memovoxes when just a flimsy disk print makes a difference. Leading to the value - there should be no huge differnce to a normal calibre 825 Memovox especially when the disks printing is in question.

Happy new year Ilja.

In my opinion both world time disks are reprinted and have the wrong font and texture. Bangladesh? Why would it be the only country there? Normally that spot is Bangkok.

Also, if it's a > 1965-66 watch, it would indicate the use of tritium.

Unfortunately, many of the watch "enhancements" particularly when it comes to dials are coming out of Germany.

Happy new year Zaf! :-)

Additional the lume on dial is white while disk's triangle is filled in yellow color.
