Hi, I have come across a JLC watch with the 478/BWS Br chronometer movement, cased in 18k gold and signed simply Jaeger LeCoultre on the dial. The dial style is early 1960s. I know it's not a Geophysic. Has anyone heard of such a watch? Did JLC put chronometer movements into their watches and not say so on the dial? I'd appreciate any insight!

Anecdotally, yes, I have seen that movement in non Geophysic cases how they got there, one can only speculate.

I owned one probably very similar to yours, in a 1958 solid gold case.

As my investigations told me, It seems that JLC produced more 478/bwsbr movements than geophysic watches. (twice more)

Mine was cased by Edmond Jaeger, in a case probably produced for Cartier watches at the time, for European market.
It is written chronometre on the dial by the way.

Post a picture of your watch, I'll be curious to see it.

Pierre.

Thanks, Zaf and Pierre.

The watch in question isn't mine (yet), so I can't post any pictures. Maybe later.
