My grandmother told me she bought this clock in Paris back in the fifties, but I have been unable to even find a name for it. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Thank you!

Herb

I'm not sure what the name would be on this exact clock, as this particular model doesn't come up often. Your time period stated (1950s) is correct. Your clock uses one of JLC's golden bridge inline movements which have become quite popular and valuable in recent years. Models employing this movement tend to fetch a minimum of $700 at auction and sometimes much much more if the model is unusual/rare.

Very nice clock!

Thank you. Do you know of any resources available that might be able to give a name? I am curious more than anything else.

Herb,

The JLC factory seems to have little/no information on anything vintage.... or perhaps they just aren't very interested in assisting vintage collectors with info and support like some brands. About the only place you'll find model names for ANY JLC/LeCoultre watch or clock mentioned is in vintage ads. I'm probably one of the largest vintage JLC/LeCoultre ad collectors around and I've never seen this exact model in any of my ads or old vintage catalogs. I have seen similar models for sale once or twice over the years, but no model name is ever mentioned and is probably not known by those owners either. Lots of variations were made of the inline golden bridge movement over the years (probably hundreds) and I seriously doubt you'll be able to find a model name anywhere. Sorry.

Greg, thanks again for your help. I will have to be content knowing that I am in possession of a unique piece. I will say it runs a little fast and I am leery of bringing it to any old run of the mill jeweler for repair. Any suggestions?

Zaf, you seem to be the other resident expert on this board. Surely you must have something to offer??

Sorry, I do not, clocks are not my expertise.
