I recently bought this JLC WWW and understand that the finish on the case may not be original. Thoughts on this would be welcomed. Has anyone ever seen a JLC WWW with a shiny chrome finish?

The finish is hard to photograph, it is slightly worn, the brass showing in places, so it must have been there for many decades.

If it has been refinished, should I have the case replated to the original matt finish? I'd be interested to know how other would deal with it.

Many thanks

David
