This belonged to my Great Grandfather, my Dad has had it sitting around for over 30 years and never gave it much thought because it wasn't his style. Hope these are the pics you need to help me out. Have looked at many sites for these watches and have seen nothing like it. Thanks for your help in advance.ALSO notice something is etched at the very bottom on inside of case...55/8 ???any idea? |

It is called 'Bottle Cap' official LeCoultre name in the US was 'Bradley'. Try our search function with these keywords. ;) 55/8 is a watchmaker mark most likely when it got a service - August 1955. |

Thank you so much for the info, I don't see very much info on the watch tho, value seems to differ from 600 - 2350. One says the Tuxedo Edition is rare and another says this watch is not very desirable so that is very confusing. It seems to me all these watches hold some type of value throught the years, so why wouldn't this one. Is it because of it's odd design? Also I posted no pictures of the band as I am not sure if it is iriginal or not but it has onyx squares down both sides except for the very bottom. Don't know if that is helpful or not. I do appreciate all of your help |

The reason prices that you see vary so wildly is that the value of the watch is very dependant on the price of gold, as it is solid 14K and is a fairly heavy case. Unless the band is also solid gold, it adds very little. To determine value, I'd say have a watchmaker remove the movement and crystal, then weight it. Add a few hundred for the movement and dial (which looks to have been partially repainted at some point). You should be close. Hope this helps, gatorcpa |
